"Fight for your rights"

The Mayor's office here in New York is trying institute a regulation that would require any group of 2 or more using a camera in a public area to obtain permits and show proof of insurance of at least 1 million dollars per occurrence.

This law is classist and yet another hit to the state of the arts in NYC. As it relates to the creative community and industry, it will drastically limit our ability to shoot photographs, music videos, b-roll and the like. This ruling will also make it nearly impossible for individual artists, film students, etc to express themselves creatively and in many cases make a living. It's also yet another attack on dissent as it would give the police an opportunity to arrest and penalize those recording protests and demonstrations.

Don't let them erode the Constitution any further. Sign the petition and write Mayor Bloomberg a note. Do it now.
